Anti-Union. Owner had no customers and a large empty parking lot that he had roped off to prevent striking teachers from parking in it. Even refused to permit a disabled teacher from parking there. He was very belligerent and antagonistic, uttering threats of calling the police. Not a very smart attitude. Every week there are HUNDREDS of teachers picketing right in front of his restaurant. Many of them work in the neighbourhood every day. Today, everyone crossed the street to buy their coffee and food. Not that I would have eaten there. I got food poisoning there a few years ago. The city health inspector said that she had never seen a restaurant that bad.
Good size portions for breakfast. Looks exactly like what you would think a diner would look like
It is a simple family-friendly restaurant where you can order milkshakes and some appetizers just like the old school days.
Have been going here after church on Sundays for the past few weeks and love it here. The food is very very good and the service is great. 😃😃😃😃😃👍👍👍👍👍
Good service. Everything on the menu was available to order, even during breakfast hours (I got a pork chop and spaghetti at 7:30am). The portion sizes were great for the prices. Definitely coming back for breakfast again.
This is a solid place to grab a bite. The decor is not vintage, it is old, outdated and looks a little scary from the outside, so the fact that they stay in business is indicative that you’re going to get a good plate of food. The omelette came with a huge helping of home fries and it hit the spot.
Kitchy decor but an awesome breakfast. Had the smoked meat plate - 3 eggs, best home fries around, toast and a massive pile of Montreal smoked meat. Unthinkable to finish this in one sitting. Really good.
Time square is an old-school diner it’s been around for over 40 years, great menu, great lunchtime specials well worth a visit if you’re in the area, friendly staff and great short order chef
Always great service with a friendly smile and chat. For three generations, we've been coming to Times Square Diner for breakfast. It feels like home.
Great local diner. I go there with my parents sometimes as it's one of their favourite spots. Food is tasty, people are nice, and you're supporting a small local business, what's not to like?
60's style decor. Good food. The Big breakfast could last a week.
Great food and service. Love the diner experience.
This place has been around for a long time and I keep coming back to find something I love to eat. Everything is just mediocre. It is a typical dinner but food is perfectly edible and staff are very friendly. I will keep trying though.
Such a wonderful place; it’s been there since 1953. Great food and good vibes.
Real New York old school style and feel diner. Family owned... pops in the kitchen. Will absolutely go back!
Went here with my boyfriend for a late breakfast. Love that they have all day breakfast! The food was average diner quality, but we were both impressed that the home fries are real potatoes (not frozen)! Will definitely be back to try more food!
Great value for delicious food! Home fries are always crispy, and eggs are always perfectly cooked! It’s simple and consistently delivers. Also staff is lovely!
Greasy dirty and some how passes city inspectors. Yes old an yes have been around forever but it's at your own risk to eat. From what you can see past the kitchen from the counter you would send you running.
Perfect classic diner. Big portions, reasonable prices, super friendly service.
Good breakfast place. It is definitely an old diner but the staff is good. Food was delicious.
A decent place for all your favorite breakfast choices. Huge bonus: prices are relatively cheap and the hours of operation are pretty much 24/7 ;)
Don't come when it's busy...We didn't get cutlery, water, coffee refills..had to go up to the front to ask. Waitress looks at her feet when walking around, not to customers and forgets what you asked for. Also I came her because I heard pancakes were good...well they dissolve and turn into paste in your mouth. I give an extra star for the decor, perhaps it's good when not busy.
Great food at reasonable price. Try the mushroom cheese burger....awesomeness!
Great food and service. Great homestyle breakfast that's never too busy
This little gem is the perfect place for some comfort foods and old classics. they make a mean burger and the chicken salad sandwich is a good choice as well.
A classic dinner in every sense of the word. I knew I was in for a great meal when the cook plated an order with “cheeseburger cheeseburger cheeseburger!” This place would give the Billy Goat in Chicago a run for its money...I added an egg to the peameal on Keizer and it was perfect. I’ll be back here next time I roll through this end of town!
Fabulous taste, tremendous portions, very reasonably priced.
Great food, great service. Cherry pie was fabulous!
I love the food in this place.
This place has been around forever. And it's still around because it's great! The staff is super friendly, good food, old 50's decor vibe, and a nice spot for breakfast/lunch. (And the prices are great too)
Been coming here for 15 years. Favorites are the breakfast and the burger they never disappoint. Only diner I've ever been to that has great home fries and doesn't short change you on the bacon. Better price AND better quality than typical diner like Wimpys.
I typically have take out. Low carb breakfast. Greek or regular salad with bacon. Always fresh and delicious
I ordered liver dinner, good service, great food with large portion, I really enjoy the food although the environment is a little dark. I would recommend going from morning to early afternoon.
Very friendly service, AMAZING food, and sweet 50s decor. Will definitely come back!
Great place for breakfast or lunch. Love the retro look. I feel like I'm in the 1950s when I'm there. It's a family owned establishment and the staff are great. The owners (mum and dad) and the boys are super friendly and engage with the customers regularly.
Went here only for breakfast. Great place. Large portions. Friendly staff. Would return
We go here frequently for birthday lunches and dinner. My dad found this place on his way home from work and we'd figure we'd give it a try. Was a good choice. The food is great amd the people are kind. If you go more than once, the owner remembers who you are. Small staff so sometimes service is slow, but that doesn't bother me personally.
Had brunch here with my team and it was delicious😍 everyone loved it!! I had crunchy fries just the way I like it with, a milk chocolate, sunny side up eggs with bacon I need to come back here again👌🏽
Great experience all-round, amazing food.
Best chocolate milkshake I've had at any diner. Burgers are huge and very tasty!! Definently not a slider size. You can get a REAL HEARTY MEAL here. I ate the Canadian burger with a chocolate milkshake. I give it a 10/10. Filled me up and left me with a big smile. The staff is lovely. They have great personalities. I would recommend this place to others.
Love this place! I go their all the time. Burgers are great, and the egg Benedict are amazing!
Go back in time here in this 1950's diner! I read some reviews that had bad experience with their service, quite the contrary from what I experienced today! Smiles and a few minutes of casual chatting with the owner. Breakfast was delicious, prompt on having our coffees refilled 👌 It's not a pretentious place, and you're not in 2017 while in there, things feel slightly slower...in a good way. I will be back. Ty
Still one of the best greasy spoon diners in the city.
Decent food and service, very reasonable prices. The orange juice was freshly squeezed, which was a very pleasant surprise.
A nice, retro diner with good prices. Has an ole fashioned feel. I liked the food.
This place is super cute and always serves good food! Great for families.
Amazingly delicious greasy spoon place. Great place for breakfast. Will be back!
Not the best diner at all!!Forks & knives were too dirty, even dirt won't come off by multiple tissue cleaning!Hostess was almost friendly. She dropped the straws on the table, with no cover or wrapping around with a tissue.Potato as the side of Omelette, was disgusting, seemed reheated.Chicken finger didn't have any taste, no salt, nothing!Cucumber on the salad belonged to ages ago! Also, you'd easily smell the moist in the place as soon as you enter the diner. Will never come back and don't recommend.
family owned and run business, they are terrific people!...always helpful, willing to do custom orders... delicious filling meals, relaxed atmosphere... every time I bring friends and family, they become return customers!
Best food I’ve ever had in Canada! Staff is very sweet and the hospitality is amazing!! I would recommend 12/10!!!
